Easter Advantage

When it comes to Easter and Christmas, there is no better time to share the gospel and the real reasons for the seasons. Christmas, we celebrate Christ’s birth and the Father sending us the precious gift of His Son. For Easter, we celebrate Jesus as not only the payment of the believer’s sins by the shedding of His blood and life on the cross, but also His resurrection and ascension into heaven as the payment accepted by the Father. Unlike some holidays like St. Patrick’s Day and the 4th of July, Easter and Christmas are celebrated multiple days, if not weeks. These tracts can be used any time during the season and feel weird or out of place.

Take Easter for instance. For Christians, Easter is celebrated from Holy Thursday to Easter and gives us four days. But, the season of lent for Roman Catholics lasts from Ash Wednesday to Easter, which provides forty days of Easter tract season! They even make it easy to spot by wearing a black cross on their forehead on the first day of their holiday.

For Christmas, the holiday runs from Christmas Eve till Christmas day; but tack on the Christmas shopping season from Black Friday till Christmas Day, that time gets extended several weeks. Not only that, but malls and shopping centers help collect those to talk to and congregate them in one area for us. It really cannot be any easier.

Today I gave out a few of these to my favorite ladies that serve me at a local smoothy bar to share the gift of Christ and my appreciation for them; pointing out the QR codes and websites to help them further explore on their own. It was somewhat rushed being they were busy; but hopefully this will encourage and inspire more dialogue as I will be there often through the year.
