WW: CARM

CARM.org

“CARM stands for the Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry. It was founded on October 25, 1995 by Matt Slick and is one of the oldest and largest Christian Apologetics sites on the internet. CARM is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Its purpose is to equip Christians with the truth, defend the faith; expose the error of false religious systems, evolution, atheism, secularism, etc; and reach the lost for Jesus.

Christianity is under attack everywhere and we need to articulate our faith intelligently and biblically. To this end, CARM offers a concise, comprehensive explanation of the Christian faith along with a logical analysis of errors in popular beliefs, both secular (atheism, humanism, etc.) and sacred (Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witness, Catholicism, etc.). It is easy to use, written for the layman, and covers a huge range of topics.” (https://carm.org/about/)

Though this website is one giant blog, it’s articles and videos are extremely engaging and informs the reader of the truths about the Bible, exposes heresy, and makes people think in a language that is easy to understand. I love Matt’s no B.S. approach to engaging with people online and even in his radio program that is aired not only online but also throughout the world wide web.

Some Things to Take Note Of

By clicking the MENU button on the left to expose the menu bar, you can already see the amount of information built into this website and imagine how massive it is. Thankfully, through navigating the MENU, you can find things pretty easy; not to mention the option of using the search bar. You will see for each menu item (Apologetics, The Bible, Bible Difficulties, etc) you will see a (+) sign next to it. Click on it, and that menu will expand to more articles and information in that category. Like I said, the amount of information is massive, but easy to navigate.

Resources and Media

Within the RESOURCES AND MEDIA menu item, click on APOLOGETICS VIDEOS. Here, you will discover a wonderful collection of videos covering various fascinating topics in Apologetics, Atheism, Doctrine, and more. These informative videos are not only engaging but also provide excellent insights that can help anyone sound like a biblical scholar during a witnessing encounter! Explore a topic that piques your interest, and don’t hesitate to share these fantastic resources with friends and family for enriching discussions.

Radio Program

Every weekday, catch Matt on his radio / podcast program, Matt Slick Live. Here you can watch it on YouTube, Rumble, or Facebook. The program comes on at:

  • 3-4 p.m. PST
  • 4-5 p.m. MST
  • 6-7 p.m. EST

He takes calls and answers questions live on the air—because clearly, privacy is overrated! Want a piece of the action? Just call 877-207-2276, where he transforms everyday folks into moving targets. Every now and then, I tune in to enjoy the spectacle, catching the hilarious questions and Matt’s clever comebacks, all in a quest to sharpen my skills out on the streets!

Store

The CARM store is a great place to shop for courses that you can take at your convenience, along with books written by Matt Slick and well-known Christian apologists like Andrew Rappaport. I personally own the Christian Defense Manual and it is very well done for the price (which includes shipping). It’s a great start if you wanted something on your bookshelf.

Matt Slick himself

Matt Slick is the founder and president of CARM. His information can be found on his bio, here. Along with his Christian testimony, here. What he doesn’t have on his website is that he has high-functioning Autism, which helps him stay focused and allows him to remember so much information. He is also one of the most hilarious people I have ever met.

I had the privilage to share the gospel along side Matt one year during the Manti Mormon Miracle Pageant that the LDS church would perform on the side of the Manti Temple in Manti, Utah. Matt and I were two of about 50 – 100 Christians that hit the streets to share the gospel to about 60,000 Mormons. It was wild times, and some days were just brutal. But Matt was always high-spirited and took the time to meet everyone on the team and talk with them one-on-one. He told jokes and shared his experieices. Even though it was one of the most intense evangelistic missions trips I’ve ever been on, we had tears running down our faces and our stomachs hurt from all the laughing when Matt was around. He was just “one-of-us” so much that I never took the time to get a picture with him.

I’ve soaked up a wealth of knowledge from this website over the years—it’s been my ultimate resource even before Got Questions Ministries came into play. It was groundbreaking then, and even better today—serving the Lord and shining a light in this dark world. I dare you to plunge into the depths of this website. There’s a treasure trove of insights waiting to be uncovered and shared with those around you.
