Imagine if you had woken up this morning, turned on the television and while you were brewing your coffee and saw, “Breaking News: Thousands Are Dead In Honolulu. Cause Unknown.” What would you think? Would you be concerned? Would you even care…being that it is an island in the middle of the Pacific and no where near you. What if you were told that it had been going on for months and the death toll is going up with no end in sight? What if you were told that they were all murdered? Would you care then?
As we celebrate the overturning of Roe v Wade, I wanted to put things into perspective for those who are not celebrating, but fighting for the right to terminate a pregnancy for any and all reasons, including viable human beings up to the point of birth.
Planned Parenthood Statistics
Today I did some research on Planned Parenthood from their own website into their latest fiscal year report of 2019-2020. It was reported by this group that they performed 354,871 abortions in one year. This works out to:
- An average of over 40 abortions per hour.
- 1 abortion every 89 seconds.
- Almost 9,200 more abortions performed in this fiscal year than the previous year (345,672).
Being that abortion is the termination of a pregnancy, therefore the murder of an unborn infant, which is gruesome enough. I don’t think that it really captures how dreadful these numbers are. I don’t think the human brain can really grasp the magnitude that 354,871 human beings lost their lives in one year by one organization. Lets face it, when it comes to numbers we cannot grasp the concept as in the trillions of dollars of U.S. government debt. Lets put it into a more grievous perspective.
More Children Died Than Population’s of Major U.S. Cities
More children died by abortion at the hands of Planned Parenthood in 2020 than the entire living 2020 population of Honolulu, Hawaii. Imagine the entire population of Honolulu dead. Whether it be by biological warfare, terrorism, nuclear bomb, or erupted volcano — it doesn’t matter. 100% of the population is DEAD. Every single man, woman, and child gone forever. If that wasn’t enough, here is a list of city populations that are less than those murdered in the womb of the same year:
City | 2020 Population |
Salt Lake City, UT | 199,723 |
Little Rock, AR | 202,591 |
Des Moines, IA | 214,133 |
Scottsdale, AZ | 241,361 |
Fort Wayne, IN | 263,866 |
Orlando, FL | 307,573 |
Newark, NJ | 311,549 |
Corpus Cristi, TX | 317,863 |
Anaheim, CA | 346,824 |
Still Not Convinced?
If we buried each child aborted in 2020 by Planned Parenthood in a 3 ft by 2 ft grave side by side (which is very conservative estimate) the graveyard would measure 2,129,226 square feet. This is equal to over 44 football fields side by side!!!
If we erected a mausoleum for all the babies murdered by Planned Parenthood in 2020 alone…it would be the size of the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium which is 2.3 million square feet. Think about that the next time you go to a pro NFL football game.

But you know what’s sad about these statistics? This is ONLY the abortions performed by Planned Parenthood in the United States in 2020 alone. This would mean that the abortions performed by hospitals, doctors, other abortion agencies, and in other countries goes well beyond this number.
How Many Total in Past 50 Years?
How many abortions has it been the past 50 years? According to the National Right To Life Committee (NRLC) they estimated 63, 459,781. That would be the equivalent of the entire 2020 populations of California, New York, and Connecticut combined.
What if everyone in these large cities and states mentioned just suddenly died needlessly? Would it matter? Would we notice? Would we care? Or worse…would we celebrate it or stand up for the rights of those to kill other human beings? Even though I wish this infanticide would immediately stop all together, I think it is worth celebrating that many of them would stop. That many lives would be saved, not only for the child in the womb, but the mothers who would have had to carry the guilt of killing their child.
Think about it.
Yes, that is a lot to think about! I have been saddened but not surprised by the former pro choice people. I call them former because they have always been pro choice in name only. No they are full on baby killing advocates that do not want mother’s to have a choice. Compare the US to the rest of the world and then recent Dobbs case that overturned RvW is less restrictive than almost every European nation.
Look at Jeremiah 16:10-13, we are a nation serving the god of convenience and deserve whatever the Lord throws our way.
I am over joyed by this recent change but so so grieved by actions of those who want to kill babies.
Pray for revival over this land, and over this world,

Agreed. We need revival so badly and the only One who can do it is Jesus. I always hoped that abortion would be abolished completely throughout the country, but maybe at least some states (most I hope) will. It will be interesting to see the statistics in the next several years. But sadly I don’t think it will. People will always find a way to murder their children, even if they have to travel somewhere else to do it. They even sell abortion pills on Amazon and can have it done in their home. But as Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:22, “…I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.” Some is better than none. Brent and I went to the Family Leader Summit yesterday and got a lot of pro-life information. His vision is to take care of the pre-born, born, and elderly. Instead of “cradle to the grave” he calls it, “From conception to glory”. We had over 20 people in the meeting about it last week and will do something with it.
