When I applied as a Writer for Got Questions Ministries, I made one of my specialties Roman Catholicism (RCC). As an ex-Catholic, I thought I had a good bead on the RCC, enough to answer questions and take responses from either current Catholics or people wanting to be Catholic. But as I started answering questions, I didn’t know as much as I thought. There were, and are, plenty of websites geared to reaching Mormons, “Jehovah’s” Witnesses, Scientology, and other cults; but hardly anything directed to Roman Catholicism. Why? Because most Christians believe the RCC is just another Christian denomination since they believe in the Trinity. But it’s the differences that make us different, not the similarities.
I confidently explored the vast ocean of the internet to discover a website that effectively challenges the RCC’s teachings while remaining accessible to those unfamiliar with its doctrines. This is exactly what The Catholic Blog provides.
Easy to Use
In pulling up The Catholic Blog, you’ll find that it is very easy to navigate and find your way around the website. In the middle of the homepage, there are large orange menu buttons to take you to various pages throughout the website. They are as follows:
- Best Pages
- Blog
- Church Questions
- Frequently Asked Questions
- Free Books
- Free Handouts
- Important Catholic Questions
- Important Scriptures
- Mary
- Peter
- Sacraments & Salvation
- Videos
- YouTube
- How Can I Become a Christian?
- How Can I Be Sure I am a Chrisitian?
As you can see, you can’t be any straight-forward than this. A person, Catholic or not, will be asking for at least one of these topics. There is also a static menu at the top of the page to the left that floats throughout the website no matter where you are. To the right on that static header, you’ll see the YouTube symbol that when clicking, takes you to their YouTube channel no matter where you are on the website.
Easy to Understand
It’s not only important to be accessible throughout the website, but to understand it as well. This website was not only written for Catholics, but for those who have never learned it’s doctrine. With each lesson or blog post, it dives into a question a Catholic or non-Catholic may have, and answers it with a video, a blog post, and a comparison of the Bible vs. the RCC Catechism (CCC).
Take for instance the post: “Will I go to purgatory? Do indulgences help us?” Open this link and follow along with me. You’ll notice a YouTube video with the same title at the beginning of the post, followed by important paragraphs of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) on the topic.
This is then followed by important Scriptures to consider on the topic as well, taken from the Holy Bible where a person can compare Scripture with the CCC and see that they are not compatible at all. This was one of my personal reasons for abandoning the RCC. Because, in the end, only one can win—Scripture, or the CCC.
This section is then followed by important questions the reader may have regarding the topic to not only ask themselves, but pique the interest to dig deeper into what the Bible and the CCC say. These questions may or may not be answered in The Catholic Blog, but it will cause doubt in the minds of RCC members.

How to Use This Website
I urge you to seriously contemplate this invaluable resource filled with like-minded Christians; it could just ignite a fire within you to boldly share the gospel of Jesus Christ with your Catholic family and friends. Thank you, my Mom is 82, not in good health, and a devote Catholic, particularly praying to Mary. She grew up with alcoholic parents and very neglected, so she turned to Mary for comfort and still does – so this is a big stronghold. Thank you for the resource and I appreciate your prayers.

Mary, I will be praying for your mother. Family is the most difficult field to minister to because they know us and our past. Plus, older parents are set in their ways. But we must remember that the Lord is bigger. This is a great resource and easy to follow. I hope it gives you peace and witnessing material.
