When I was in college studying for my degrees in Electronics Engineering Technology, I had a pretty good concept of the different classes I took. Circuit Theory, Digital Electronics, Microprocessors, Physics, Visual Basic, and Transistor Electronics just to name a few. The professors taught their classes well in the individual parts of a system; but what they failed to teach us was how all these different classes and parts of the system came together to make the whole system. They failed to teach us how to bring all we learned in each individual class to create something useful. With that, I never understood how to actually build anything from scratch. In essence, they didn’t teach us how to be Engineers at all.
Christianity is a lot like Engineering
It’s easy to learn the basics and fundamentals of the individual parts of Systematic Theology, but what many theologians fail to do is bring it all together, and how they all relate to one another. Like putting a jigsaw puzzle together: you see the individual pieces form together to see smaller parts of the whole. First a zebra, another a lion, an elephant starts to form in the corner from the gray pieces in the box. But when these individual sections come together — it makes the entire jungle. The goal is to see the jungle and see something magnificent.
Maybe you’ve heard individual parts or books of the Bible, but never seemed to put it all together. Maybe you don’t understand why a couple in a garden was tempted by a talking snake to eat an apple which caused all of humanity to burn in hell forever. That in and of itself seems ridiculous if that’s all we know; not to mention how that relates to God’s love and mercy?
The goal
My goal is to help you see the bigger picture — the jungle if you will. If at any point you don’t get it, let me know and I will try to elaborate more on the individual pages to reveal the magnificent awesome God I serve. I can’t make you believe the Bible or anything that is in there, but I can at least help you to dispel some of the misconceptions about it and explain the mysteries throughout its pages.
